The Sunshine Cafe is a joint venture between WISE (Wetherby in Support of the Elderly) and the Leeds branch of the Alzheimer’s Society, it’s aim is to support Alzheimer’s sufferers and their carers. The cafes provide a simple but effective way of addressing the problems faced by carers of people with dementia, who, due to the all encompassing nature of their role, often become socially isolated. Here they have a chance to meet and talk with other people facing the same challenges, as well as an opportunity to get advice from health care professionals.
Our cafe is open on the last Wednesday of every month, and is in Collingham Village Hall between 2pm and 4pm. If you are caring for someone with Dementia and would like some support then you are both welcome to come along for a chat, advice and support. Tea and coffee with cakes are available.
